Trilogy of Life

By one wave you can make a mess by another wave you can throw colours of paint on the canvas and another wave you can make a master piece. Sculpture Relax, the hand just finished the master piece and holding the paint brush in a relaxing position but is still shaking and vibrating after the storm of wonderful creation. In fact it wasn’t a storm it was beautiful fly of butterfly through the pallet of colours, freedom and happiness of spinning and dancing between a pallet full of colours and canvas, creating a beautiful garden of never ending magic’s of nature. But I am no longer talking about Relax sculpture I am talking about the Butterfly sculpture which gives you the master piece, the hand holding paint brush standing in the lake full of fresh water. But one story can be bigger than the other.

I am sitting in my studio, sunshine just blustering in to my window makes me feel really warm its 1st April 2013; 16:09 I am writing this story about my work just finishing a layer of resin in the Relax sculpture looking at the Butterfly sculpture and through the reflection of beams from the sun I can barely see the surface. It’s really making me feel like I am sitting on the chair looking at the almost completely quiet surface of the lake and now did you see it!? The little wave from the fish just front of the chair and now you can see all the little bubbles come from the bottom of the lake. Oh it’s like magic, when I was a little boy I was enjoying fishing on my mums caravan next to the water reservoir “Slapy”. Those little waves I could see all around the surface, wishing to catch the biggest fish. Telling myself they are so close and the small bubbles which come to the surface, I knew that, that is the fishes looking for something to eat. Now I know no matter if I catch something or not but the beautiful warm afternoon, just to sit in the quiet of the nature. The beams of the sun tingles my nose and in my eyes the reflection of the sun from the water I almost couldn’t see the cork of my fishing rod and butterfly dancing in the warm air next to me. I think that was the time of my life.

On the other hand what really happened in London was just another of my challenges. I mean the creation of the Butterfly & Relax, after making No Name Face, Brick Lane Man and Comedy London. I was commissioned to create something what will express the characteristic of a person with “Big Hand, Big Heart and Big Friend”. I needed to quickly learn how to use and make hand cast, successfully with my imagination and creation I discovered how to make a cast of a hand with holding an object using it in the “Big Hand, Big Heart, Big Friend” sculpture. That set me up for a challenge to create a cast of a hand holding a brush but not only that as you can see “Big Hand, Big Heart, Big Friend” on my web site that the hand is actually standing on a hard base of stained glass. I wanted to achieve an expression of a levitating hand on the brush, to make the feeling of a painter’s hand still working on the master piece. Creating Tiffany glass and mirror base representing a pallet of colours filed up with clear resin to let the light play with reflection of glass, mirror and the resin.

MY D N A sculpture is the master piece, Butterfly is the process of making it and Relax is the pleasure of accomplishing the Trilogy of life.
